US Forest Service Sawyer Training and Certification

This is a two-day class for new sawyers.  The first day will be virtual classroom.  The second day is the field test and certification. 

Prerequisites for the class must be completed and the following documents emailed to Heather Spencer no later than Tuesday September 3rd:

• Completed and signed VSA
• First-Aid/CPR Certification Card
• Signed signature page from Blood-Borne Pathogens Training

Prerequisites include:

• 2024 Volunteer Service Agreement
• First-Aid/CPR card from approved organization - see list on SHTC website under FIRST AID-CPR  
• Complete Blood-borne Pathogens Training and sign the signature page 

PPE needed for the field day include:

• Long sleeve shirt, long pants, leather boots, leather gloves, ear protection, eye protection, hard hat, and chaps if you have them (FS approved chaps says ASTM F-1897 on the tag)  
• Please bring your saw if it is in working order 
• Saws and chaps will be provided if needed
